Artist Kang Min-seok's ice cream-shaped sculptural works showcase a unique artistic expression. In this work, Kang Min-seok mimics a specific object from the real world, namely ice cream. In reality, the ice cream does not melt and remains forever intact.
The artist created the shapes by using leftover materials from his paintings, such as acrylic paint fragments and tissue paper, and then finished them with resin. This working method maximizes the physical properties of the paint and expresses the permanence of ice cream, which is impossible in reality. These forms evoke old memories and joy, symbolizing infinite memories and emotions with ice cream that never melts. Through this, the artist aims to provide viewers with eternal pleasure and memories.
Kang Min-seok's sculptural works stimulate the imagination beyond material limitations and demonstrate an artistic challenge that breaks the boundaries of reality. This reflects his constant exploration of themes such as the permanence of time, space, and memory.
